My Story
I started my journey as a musician and performer in several groups before entering the world of broadcast radio at KUPS 90.1 FM the Sound, in Tacoma, WA. While working in radio, I discovered a passion for the technical side of music. In 2015, I founded Budget Cuts: Records & Tapes to support an emerging wave of unique talent in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The label has received positive coverage from The Guardian, BBC, and Unearthed Sounds. While running Budget Cuts, I continued to follow my passion for sound engineering by first receiving a certificate in audio engineering from the University of Washington and then completing my master's in music technology (M.M) at NYU Steinhardt in May 2022.
My thesis research at NYU focused on creating new mediums of musical interaction through experimental interface design---building a tactile prototype that modulated modular synthesizer parameters using conductive rubber cord. My thesis is just one example of how I want to continue merging my technical experience with my creative problem solving.
My work overall is driven by unyielding love for music and a strong desire to support unique and original creators. I constantly seek to explore the peripherals of music and technology while attempting to expand and redefine our understanding of both.

As a freelance engineer, I have worked with independent filmmakers, underground record labels, and a wide variety of artists, including Naked Giants, Nicadrio Lee, and Bardo:Basho.
